Well, I'm not very good at keeping this up-but it's probably the closest I have to a journal so am going to keep at it. It seems like the older I get the faster time flies by.... We did go to Colorado in March and it was really nice to get away and visit family. Since then-in April Daniel found out that Vinyard's Farm and Home was closing. He worked there 13 years. He didn't have a clue what he wanted to do-seemed pretty shocked and all. He finally decided after much deliberation to go to college for massage therapy! He has been in classes for a month now and will finish in September 2012! That's just over a year from now. It's a lot of work and he has been studying really hard, has learned to use the laptop, email, and use word. And I have been reaping the benefits of his practice. It's awesome!!! I told him tonight he is going to be a "body guru" when he gets done. Bret now has a job, too. He is working at an internet help place that people call into and he troubleshoots their problem by phone. He is sooo excited to be making money and that they will work him around his college schedule. It looks like he will only have 2 full days of class per week for the next semester and he is saving for his own car. He already owns a scooter, which is great around town, but he needs something bigger to get back and forth to Pittsburg. So, Bret and Daniel are going to go back and forth together this semester (2 days per week) and Daniel is hanging out on campus to study-which could make it easier for him to not be interuppted. Andy is still in the guard, working at Dominos Pizza, and dating Cassie. He is still healing from a nasty brown recluse bite on his upper left arm. It looks much better now though. Cassie seems like a really good girl-has a dramatic effect on his level of maturity! She's a level-headed, hard-worker, too. Hopefully some of that will rub off on the boy! LOL And work for me-well it's always busy. It's also an adventure! You just never know who you will be helping or what the circumstances will be. I love it though. It is truly God's work and there is nothing that can bring the sense of helpfulness more to your heart that serving your fellow men at a time like death. Families and patients need love and support and the more time you spend in this area-the better experienced and able you become to do just that. I wish more people were willing to just try Hospice, but it's like they already decided they just can't do it. We also have our house on the market. It has only shown one time-last week-so far. I'm not holding out much hope that it will sell. if it does-great, and if not-we will probably just turn the basement level into office/business space next year when Daniel finishes school. Either way it will work out. I guess that's probably enough for now, nighty, night. ;-)

March 2011

Well it's been a busy year (as usual). I had shoulder surgery in October and we had holidays in November/December. Bret finished a semester at PSU and is now in his 2nd semester. He lives in the dorm but he's home for spring break right now. Bret has Mono and Andy has strep throat....so lots of fun at the moment. Bret also got a motor scooter and uses it to travel around Pittsburg. It's cheap to run and the insurance for a year is probably what a car would run for a month for him. Andy is working at Domino's and last month he went to Germany for National guard. He was activated in January for a blizzard here at home, too. He was in the paper 2 or 3 times for his service in the community. Daniel and I are busy working all the time, but we are taking some time off to travel to Colorado for Gabriel and Rebekah's baptism this week. There is also going to be lots of family there and we get to see Erin (she is expecting her first little baby).

August

Well, this summer has flown by! We had family home in June and it seems like I worked constantly. All that hard work has paid off now as I was made full-time and put onto salary with bonuses. Woo-hoo! We are really looking forward to classes starting soon. Andy will be at Crowder Nevada and Bret moves into PSU on the 21st. We traded our old camry for a new RAV4 this week, too. Now Daniel and I both have a new vehicle and we can travel with ease whenever we want to.

So, Andy is working at 2 Proms tonight....both out of town. Bret already left and wouldn't let us take a photo yet. And the other one is my cousin Paul, whose girlfriend is from Nevada. Big day here!

MP Graduation April 2010

The day after Andy's 20th Birthday, we all got to attend "Family Day" at Ft Leonard Wood. Daniel, myself, Bret, and Nicole traveled and spent the 7th and 8th there. Graduation was the 8th and then we all traveled back home. It was really interesting to see the video of what they had been doing in training. Of course now that Andy's home he has been busy, too. He is planning to move out in the next month, has a job at 3M, and planning to attend college in the Fall. Hopefully that will all work out with the Military's plans for him.

The End of January...

Time really flies... Andy left at the beginning of January to complete his MP training at Ft Leonard Wood. We will pick him up right after his birthday, on April 7 & 8th. He was really bummed out about being away on April 6th again this year, that's 2 birthdays in a row at FLW. Bret is really busy with a role in 3 different productions: the CCPA-as a "sleazy mexican named Diego, the Children's Theatre as Father Christmas in Narnia, and a role in the Senior Play at the high school. Daniel has finished the repairs to the house from Bret's drive-thru. And I have taken a second job, as a Clinical Instructor for the Crowder Nevada RN program. So, we are all keeping very busy around here!
